Meet the Fetch foster pups available for adoption

We spend time getting to know every one of our pups in order to find them the perfect forever home. Each Fetch dog has their own story to share with the world. Click on a dog to read more about its personality and story. New pups join Fetch weekly so make sure to check back regularly or tune to our Facebook page for updates. Please note that we currently have a wait list for adoption. There's a good chance you may not get the pup you apply for, but we will find a pup that is a great match for your lifestyle. Our adoption process can take up to two months. If you're looking for a dog sooner, we highly recommend that you foster with Fetch, or check out the Dane County Humane Society, Iowa County Humane Society, Green County Humane Society, or any other local Wisconsin shelters - they have many dogs ready and waiting for their forever homes. (Note: If a picture does does not have a link, that means we don't have their bios ready quite yet).

Fetch works with local dog owners to help them re-home their dogs. You can apply for these dogs through the same adoption process as above. Our service is to screen and approve potential homes for surrendering owners, but you will finalize the adoption directly with the surrendering owner. Fetch cannot guarantee the behavior and medical condition of these dogs, but we strive to provide all information that we have on them during the process.

Jack is a 6 year old terrier mix.  He wants to run and play in a fenced in yard for a short time but then he wants to come inside to cuddle.  He shows his love with licks.  Having room for Jack to run at home is important because Jack can be anxious in new situations and with new animals.  Sometimes his anxiety can cause him to react negatively with new dogs and most recently kids - which is why we have to rehome him.  The ideal home for Jack would be one where he is the only pet (cats may be okay - he lives with one now), no kids, and a fenced yard for him to run in - he will likely never be a dog that can go to the dog park.  An experienced dog owner would be beneficial.  Jack is crate trained, house broken, has been to basic manners classes, reactive rover classes, and agility classes.  He is a smart dog and it breaks our heart to have to rehome him.  Jack will go to his new forever home with his crate, leash, easy walk harness, remaining anxiety meds, dog bowls, and toys. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/38990822

Kip is a 7.5 year old black Labrador Retriever Kip is a wonderful dog. She is sweet and will cuddle up with you on the couch. She will chase (but maybe not bring back!) balls that you throw her over and over again. She is a wonderful running and walking partner. Her dog daycare staff all adore her and she spends most of her days as the "lobby dog" hanging out with them and getting special treats. She is also well-trained and completely housebroken. She knows the following commands: sit, stay, come, lay down, take it, leave it, target, go to your bed and watch me. She would be most happy as the only dog in her home.

Sebastian 13 year old Siberian husky, 75 lbs; Eli 11 year old Siberian husky, 62 lbs Sebastian and Eli are being surrendered due to the owners needing to move and being unable to have dogs. They have been with the family since they were puppies. Sebastian has a benign fatty mass on his ribcage and is a little slower than he used to be, but they are both in good health and still have plenty of energy for walks. Sebastian has some resource guarding with food and Eli does not like to have his paws touched, but both give appropriate warning signals. They both like being with their people. They are good with dogs, good with kids, good in the car, good on a leash, and can be left home alone. They spend most of their day lounging around the house.

Milo is a 3 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, 52 pounds Milo is being surrendered because his family makeup will be changing and he likely won't do well with babies/young children. When he was first adopted he was scared and untrusting of everyone and it appeared that he had been abused in the past. After a lot of work with an in-home trainer he has come a long way. He now goes to doggy daycare, gets groomed, follows multiple commands, and is crate trained at night. He still has some trust issues and is initially anxious around new guests, but settles down after about 10 minutes and will relax on his mat. He is working on resource guarding and leash reactivity, and doesn't like having alpha male type dogs in his home. He typically spends his day relaxing around the house and playing with his toys- he's never damaged anything in the house. He is very smart and learns commands quickly. He loves routine and would do best with a responsible owner who is committed to continuing his training.

PJ is a 2 year old shepherd mix, 55 lbs PJ is good with other dogs and cats. Has not been around young kids, so we're unsure about that. He is being surrendered due to some growling when people get their face really close to his face and he bit someone who tried to kiss him, but he is not an aggressive dog. He has a very sweet and loving personality and his previous foster loved him.

Nellie is an absolutely sweet 4 year old Bloodhound/Lab mix who would love to be in a home where she can be the center of your loving attention.  She needs an environment with no small children or other dogs.  She has no experience with cats.  Nellie gets a bit uncomfortable when she is on a leash; therefore, going for walks is not her favorite activity and becomes anxious when she sees other dogs.  If you have a large yard or a lot of land that she can roam safely and play fetch with you, she would be very happy.  She absolutely loves squeaky tennis balls, car rides, and FOOD.  She will basically do anything for a treat which makes her easily trainable. She is house trained, knows basic commands, spayed, and up-to-date on all her shots.  This precious girl is looking for her new favorite person to play fetch with, cuddle with during thunderstorms, and is willing to clean up any food you might drop on the floor!

Luna is a 4.5 year old Pitbull/Boxer Mix, 65-70 pounds Luna has been with her family for 4 years and she loves being around people. Starting about 2 months ago however she began attacking the family's 10 yo St. Bernard. The family has not been able to identify any triggers and training attempts have not slowed down the frequency of the attacks. The family had Luna evaluated for underlying medical conditions, but none were found. Otherwise she is playful, goofy, smart, and sweet. She has never shown aggression toward people. She can be too energetic around small children, and would do best with older kids. She enjoys playing with balls and sticks. She would do best in a home with no other pets and someone who can give her regular exercise.

Piper is a beautiful 3.5 year old terrier/cattle dog mix with a lot of energy. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog and we don't want to let her go, but she doesn't get along with our elderly beagle or our cat. After two years, we've decided that it's not fair to any of them and that Piper deserves a better home where she's the only pet. She loves to play with toys, sticks, and especially balls, just not other animals. Her favorite thing to do is play a long game of fetch followed by a belly rub. She's very aware of her surroundings and will let you know if someone is coming to the door. She has a big appetite but has been maintaining a healthy 25lbs with portion control and scheduled feeding times (which she will remind you of).  Piper is very smart and already knows several tricks including sit, stay, down, high five, shake, and leave it. She's very motivated to learn for a treat or a good butt scratch. She is crate and house trained. She loves walks and does best when wearing a halter. She absolutely loved hiking at Devils Lake and would even slow down on the tougher climbs when we told her "easy". She barked when other dogs were ahead of us on the trail but stopped once we passed them. She loves to snuggle and will insist that you rub her tummy even if it's with your feet. She has been taught to stay off of furniture unless she's invited. Piper needs a family that will take her on long walks or runs and has plenty of energy for fetch and training. Since her experience with children is limited, we suggest she should be in a home with either no children or older children.

Cas is a 1.5 year old coonhound mix, 38 pounds Cas' owner is moving and cannot take him with. He is a rescue dog and has difficulty trusting strangers. He will growl at them, but if they ignore him he will eventually figure out that it's safe. He is less trusting of men than women. He is currently living with 5 other dogs and occasionally gets into a minor scuffle with one of the male dogs, but otherwise does well with dogs. No resource guarding with humans or dogs. He gets carsick on drives longer than 15 minutes. He is good on a leash, housebroken, and knows basic commands. He likes to play fetch and snuggle under the covers with his humans. He has a lot of energy and does well with runs or long walks.

Enzo is a 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix, 75 pounds Due to less than ideal living conditions, Enzo is currently spending 10+ hours/day in his crate and he does not have space to get rid of his energy. He is very excitable when meeting people and other dogs on walks, but is otherwise calm on walks. He can be timid at times and may behave defensively if he feels backed into a corner or that someone is angry with him. He will bark and whine if he's anxious. His owner feels that a lot of his behaviors are due to the excessive amount of time he is in his crate and would be improved with more attention and exercise. He is good with older kids (might be too energetic for really little kids), and generally good with other dogs. Enzo can be possessive of his toys while in "his room", but is fine sharing toys with other dogs in other areas of the house. His play style is rough. He is good in the car and crate trained. He would do best in a home that sets consistent boundaries with him and provides room for him to run around.

Roger is a 8 year old Weimaraner, 75 pounds Roger's family has found that they don't have time to work on some of his anxious behaviors due to having young children and a busy life. He does fine with the other dog in the house and tolerates familiar dogs, but is not a fan of other dogs he meets outside. He barks at people walking by the house and recently showed aggression toward the UPS man, but is otherwise fine with people he meets. He is very smart and trained on an electric fence. He would do best in a less chaotic environment (no young kids) and with people who will go for long walks or runs in the woods. He loves to swim and chase sticks in the water. He is good in the car, good on a leash, crate trained, and can be left home alone. He spends most of his day lying around the house.
