Meet the Fetch foster pups available for adoption

We spend time getting to know every one of our pups in order to find them the perfect forever home. Each Fetch dog has their own story to share with the world. Click on a dog to read more about its personality and story. New pups join Fetch weekly so make sure to check back regularly or tune to our Facebook page for updates. Please note that we currently have a wait list for adoption. There's a good chance you may not get the pup you apply for, but we will find a pup that is a great match for your lifestyle. Our adoption process can take up to two months. If you're looking for a dog sooner, we highly recommend that you foster with Fetch, or check out the Dane County Humane Society, Iowa County Humane Society, Green County Humane Society, or any other local Wisconsin shelters - they have many dogs ready and waiting for their forever homes. (Note: If a picture does does not have a link, that means we don't have their bios ready quite yet).

Fetch works with local dog owners to help them re-home their dogs. You can apply for these dogs through the same adoption process as above. Our service is to screen and approve potential homes for surrendering owners, but you will finalize the adoption directly with the surrendering owner. Fetch cannot guarantee the behavior and medical condition of these dogs, but we strive to provide all information that we have on them during the process.

Phoenix is a 3.5 year terrier/boxer mix, 72 pounds These cold winter months call for a good cuddle buddy! Phoenix loves attention, kisses, and a nice bed (or couch, or rug... as long as it's close to you). He loves playing with kids, but with his size, he'd do best with ones who can play calmly. He has been super tolerant of typical toddler behavior, though. Besides humans, Phoenix also loves toys (destroying them anyway), pulling on his leash (a pinch collar helps), and likes to play with other dogs. He plays rough and loud, but tends toward the submissive side. There's just one thing left to mention... Phoenix is a farter. He likes to sneak them in to make sure you get a little laughter each day. Does this guy sound like your new best friend?

Ryder is a 7 month old pit mix, 55 pounds In the market for some big puppy kisses? Ryder's got you covered. He's quiet, friendly with dogs, a little too friendly for cats, and on his way to being fully housebroken. He's got a typical puppy nipping habit, and with his size, might be best in a home with older children. He's really just a super sweet and affectionate dog looking for someone who can furever give him the love, attention, and structure he needs. You ready for this guy to be your newest pal?

Paris is 40 pounds (top) and Panda is 45 pounds (bottom) and both are 5 year old corgi mixes.  Paris and Panda are a sister and brother bonded pair. They are being surrendered due to their owner having to move and being unable to take them with her. They are good with dogs, good with cats, and good with kids. They are good in the car, good on a leash, crate trained, and can be left home alone. They sleep during the day and play in the yard together. They would need to be adopted together

Scooter is a 3 yo Mini Dachshund, 10 pounds.  Scooter is a lap dog and loves to snuggle. Scooter would do best in a home without small children or other dogs, as he seems to be fearful and defensive. He warms up to people after awhile, but may bark initially. He is mostly housebroken, but sometimes poops in the house and his family has not had time to work further on it.  He is crate trained.

Nellie is an absolutely sweet 4 year old Bloodhound/Lab mix who would love to be in a home where she can be the center of your loving attention.  She needs an environment with no small children or other dogs.  She has no experience with cats.  Nellie gets a bit uncomfortable when she is on a leash; therefore, going for walks is not her favorite activity and becomes anxious when she sees other dogs.  If you have a large yard or a lot of land that she can roam safely and play fetch with you, she would be very happy.  She absolutely loves squeaky tennis balls, car rides, and FOOD.  She will basically do anything for a treat which makes her easily trainable. She is house trained, knows basic commands, spayed, and up-to-date on all her shots.  This precious girl is looking for her new favorite person to play fetch with, cuddle with during thunderstorms, and is willing to clean up any food you might drop on the floor!

Roger is a 8 year old Weimaraner, 75 pounds Roger's family has found that they don't have time to work on some of his anxious behaviors due to having young children and a busy life. He does fine with the other dog in the house and tolerates familiar dogs, but is not a fan of other dogs he meets outside. He barks at people walking by the house and recently showed aggression toward the UPS man, but is otherwise fine with people he meets. He is very smart and trained on an electric fence. He would do best in a less chaotic environment (no young kids) and with people who will go for long walks or runs in the woods. He loves to swim and chase sticks in the water. He is good in the car, good on a leash, crate trained, and can be left home alone. He spends most of his day lying around the house.

Dot is a 4 year old Pit mix, 55 pounds Dot is a LOVER. She loves dogs, cats (can you tell?), and kids! She can be a bit excitable, especially in new situations.. she just can't help herself - she wants to be as close to humans as possible. Nothing that regular attention and exercise couldn't help. Speaking of attention, she also loves to cuddle. And the only time she really barks is when she knows you're close to the dog park. She used to be crate trained, but roams free these days. Might she roam into your heart this holiday season?

Sophie is a 6yo Pittie Mix, 65 pounds.  Sophie has lived with other dogs and cats in the past before she was adopted, but she would likely do best as an only dog in her forever home. She is reactive to other dogs when in her crate or on a leash. Before she was adopted she appeared to have been in a car accident, but has no residual medical issues. She is good in the car, good on a leash, crate trained, and can be left home alone. She is energetic, but spends most of her time near her people or sleeping in the sun. She is sweet and loving with everyone she meets. She knows "place" and will stay when people come to the door. She loves to give kisses, run around in the backyard, and play in the hose on a hot day. She would likely do better with older kids (or no kids) as she sometimes does not know her own strength.

Dixie is a 1 year old lab mix, 70 pounds Dixie has a lot of energy and barks a lot, but her owners don't have time to work with her. She is good with kids and crate trained. She is very loyal and loves spending time with her family. She would do best in a family that would run and spend a lot of time with her.

Bowie 3 year old American Long-Haired Bulldog, 65 pounds, neutered male Bowie loves to spend time with his people and can learn new skills quickly. Bowie gets along with some, but not all cats and dogs, so he would do best in a home where he was the only pet. He has a lot of energy and needs exercise on a daily basis to prevent him from getting bored and agitated. If he doesn't get enough exercise he will chew on things he is not supposed to. In true bulldog fashion, he can be stubborn if there is a change in his schedule and he doesn't get his way. He has a small heart murmur that does not currently cause him any problems. He currently takes a joint supplement to prevent having sore hips after lots of activity. He is afraid of grates, drains, and bridges/overpasses. He loves to chase a laser pointer. He knows basic commands and loves spending time in his crate. He walks best on a harness. Bowie thinks he's a lap dog and loves full-body snuggles.

Frankie is a 6 year old Olde English Bulldog, 65 pounds Frankie's in search of a family with no others dogs. Looking for a big lap dog? Frankie's your girl. She needs very little attention and activity, but still loves to kiss and cuddle. Good with kids? You bet! Frankie doesn't like to be kenneled (less kenneling means more time with you!), but a room with a door closed helps reduce her anxiety. Convinced to kick back and relax with this pup?

Milo is a 3 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, 52 pounds Milo is being surrendered because his family makeup will be changing and he likely won't do well with babies/young children. When he was first adopted he was scared and untrusting of everyone and it appeared that he had been abused in the past. After a lot of work with an in-home trainer he has come a long way. He now goes to doggy daycare, gets groomed, follows multiple commands, and is crate trained at night. He still has some trust issues and is initially anxious around new guests, but settles down after about 10 minutes and will relax on his mat. He is working on resource guarding and leash reactivity, and doesn't like having alpha male type dogs in his home. He typically spends his day relaxing around the house and playing with his toys- he's never damaged anything in the house. He is very smart and learns commands quickly. He loves routine and would do best with a responsible owner who is committed to continuing his training.
