Meet the Fetch foster pups available for adoption

We spend time getting to know every one of our pups in order to find them the perfect forever home. Each Fetch dog has their own story to share with the world. Click on a dog to read more about their personality and story. New pups join Fetch weekly so make sure to check back regularly or tune to our Facebook page for updates. Please note that we currently have a wait list for adoption. There's a good chance you may not get the pup you apply for, but we will find a pup that is a great match for your lifestyle. Our adoption process can take up to two months. If you're looking for a dog sooner, we highly recommend that you foster with Fetch, or check out the Dane County Humane Society, Iowa County Humane Society, Green County Humane Society, or any other local Wisconsin shelters - they have many dogs ready and waiting for their forever homes. (Note: If a picture does does not have a link, that means we don't have their bios ready quite yet).

Fetch works with local dog owners to help them re-home their dogs. You can apply for these dogs through the same adoption process as above. Our service is to screen and approve potential homes for surrendering owners, but you will finalize the adoption directly with the surrendering owner. Fetch cannot guarantee the behavior and medical condition of these dogs, but we strive to provide all information that we have on them during the process.

Gouda is a 4 year old Border Collie mix She is a great dog for an experienced owner. She is a very healthy pup with a lot of energy, so space to run is required. She is very intelligent and knows many commands including sit, lay down, stand, beg, jump, roll over, crawl, dance, back up, heel on either side, and many more! She is dog reactive/aggressive and a single dog household is best for her. She has zero human aggression, but may be too excitable for children. She is kennel and house trained and does not have separation anxiety. Gouda is at her best when she is mentally stimulated and is able to run every day. When she is properly exercised she is a sweet dog who just wants to play and lie next to you and is incredibly loyal.

Daisy is a 3 year old Boxer/Lab/Terrier Mix I am a very well behaved girl with lots of energy and love. My favorite things in this world are meeting new human friends, taking long naps, get lots of tummy rubs, take nice long quiet walks and play fetch. I'm also very obedient and know lots of commands like SIT, STAY, LAY DOWN, HEEL, DROP, and LEAVE IT among others. I have a tendency to overreact when I see other dogs and I have an issue with calming down after I see them, so my ideal home would have no other animals.

Pumpkin is a 5 year old female pitbull mix, 45 lbs Hi! My name is Pumpkin. I challenge you to find a sweeter dog than me! Speaking of challenges, unfortunately, I’m not always sure who is trustworthy and sometimes I think I need to defend myself and my family from people or dogs who (I’m told) don’t really mean any harm and this is why my current family can’t keep me. My current family is looking for experienced dog owners, ideally experienced pittie owners, with a better home environment for my issues and who would be committed to helping me be the best dog I can be. My basic obedience skills are excellent and I am very treat-motivated, so I’m ready to learn even more. I am house trained, crate trained and like playing fetch and going for walks.

Miley is a 2.5 year old female hound mix, 60 lbs Miley is a smart, playful and snuggly girl. Although she will always play with you, she does well napping or chewing contently on her bone! Miley learns fast and enjoys lots of games and fun and does wonderful with children and dogs - although she can be a little territorial and could use a little patience and training in this area. She knows a myriad of commands and is kennel and potty trained!  Miley is an easy girl to love and will give all the love right back to you. Is Miley your new best friend?

Frankie is a 2 year old cairn terrier He is playful, smart, and independent. We love him fiercely, and he has been a welcome addition to our home for two years. Frank is always excited to greet us when we come home and loves being outdoors. He does very well following directions, especially when given his favorite treats. Typically, he is a chill dog that will brighten your day. He loves hot dogs, the dog park, smelling around the yard, and relaxing in his favorite chair. Frank has struggles with pain from vertebrae that are too close together and arthritis in his knees and hips. He has shown aggression towards us (snarling and biting), but typically does well with visitors. We have learned his triggers and are able to live beside him happily when these triggers are avoided. We just worry that these triggers (i.e. touching him when he’s resting) will be impossible to avoid when we have small children running around. He needs a wide berth when resting and medications with breakfast and dinner. Although Frank has his issues (and is adorably one-eyed), we know he can be the perfect dog for someone without kids looking for a smart and independent companion to walk through life beside.

Charlie, 6 year old pitbull mix, 55 lbs Charlie is a sweet girl who is house broken and knows basic commands. She would do best in a house with older children (13+) or no children, because younger children make her anxious. She is wary of strangers, especially men, but warms up given time. She would do best as the only dog in the home, and is great with cats. Given time, she would get along with dogs, but does exhibit resource guarding behavior. Thunderstorms, fireworks, and being away from her people make her anxious. She loves car rides and being around her humans. Are you her forever family?

Zayne is a 1.5 year old intact male pitbull, 50 lbs The best word to describe Zayne would be bouncy! Zayne is a happy boy who loves running around the backyard and playing with his human siblings. He needs some more house and kennel training but he is as loyal as can be, and a HUGE snuggler. Is he your next movie night pal?

Crate trained and potty trained and a small problem with incontinence, Lexi is able to stay home in her kennel during the day and will greet you with hugs and kisses when you get home! Lexi would do better in a home with no other dogs, cats or children where she can snuggle up to her new owner and relax. Is she your new best friend?

Dexter is 5.5 yr old pitbull mix I LOVE to snuggle. Seriously, it's my favorite. My ideal day involves eating and sleeping. I like going on walks but honestly, I'm pretty lazy. If I had a yard with a 6ft fence I would lay in the sun ALL day. I love the sun because I am a San Diego Native; so I'm still getting used to the winters here in WI. I love people, all people. I'll snuggle up to just about anyone, after a loud bark of excitement that hopefully doesn't scare them away. I really wish I wasn't so intimidating to strangers because I'm just a lover. I'm not big on sharing the house with other animals though. I'm an alpha and the only other dogs I'll tolerate are submissive dogs when I'm introduced properly. I like to guard the property. If a stranger enters, I will bark - loudly. But I'm all bark, I'd never bite, promise! I kept my mom safe while she was living in downtown San Diego :) I have two best friends: Hugh who is a 3 yr old Spaniel mutt, and Jovi who is a 7 year old Samoyed (I lived with Jovi for years and Hugh is my current dog-mate). Lucy, a chocolate lab, shared a yard with me at my last home in SD and we liked to play in passing. I don't like cats, I think they're food. I know basic commands like sit, lay down, stay and show me your belly (my submissive command).

Skippy, 9 year old Rat Terrier, 20 lbs Here is Skippy. He is a rattie who is about 10 years old. He came to our house 9 years ago from a co-worker who was unable to take care of him.  My wife died last year so he and I are now alone and I can't take him with me to where I'm going.  He is an amazing athlete and very, very smart. He dearly loves his people and could use an experienced owner to help him learn to be more social outside the pack.  He loves to play but again, needs a dog-person to help him learn to play better.

Sophie is a 6 year old female pit mix, 65 pounds.    Sophie has lived with other dogs and cats in the past before she was adopted, but she would likely do best as an only dog in her forever home. She is reactive to other dogs when in her crate or on a leash. Before she was adopted she appeared to have been in a car accident, but has no residual medical issues. She is good in the car, good on a leash, crate trained, and can be left home alone. She is energetic, but spends most of her time near her people or sleeping in the sun. She is sweet and loving with everyone she meets. She knows "place" and will stay when people come to the door. She loves to give kisses, run around in the backyard, and play in the hose on a hot day. She would likely do better with older kids (or no kids) as she sometimes does not know her own strength.
