Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 1: We pull the sheets back from our daughter's bed to wake both her and Suki up and take her out to potty. If we are going somewhere she prefers to come with and so rides in the car to drop kids off at school. Between naps she enjoys a walk and has been eating well for us--fresh air seems to do her good! Her tail is always wagging. Suki loves kids! She is very timid at first with adults and will bark at new people and not let them touch her. But with our kids she took to them right away and even let them pick her up. Now that she's acclimated she gravitates to my husband and comes on my lap as well. She needs to have the space and time to come to you on her own but after she decides you're ok she is very affectionate and sweet. She is low-medium energy. She loves to get out for a walk or run around the yard/dog park with other dogs. She is great on the leash, no pulling and only being 15 lbs kids can easily handle her. She's good with our dogs but doesn't play with them--prefers humans. She will get protective of her things--food, toy, person with dogs but is just posturing, doesn't pose physical threat. She ignores our cats. She seems to do fine for us when left alone. The surrendering owner had issues with separation anxiety and was vocal when left but she only had her 3 weeks. I think once she's comfortable and realizes this is the routine she settles in and sleeps. With patience and supportive encouragement Suki proves to be a sweet, loving dog. She was very isolated in her past and with every new experience she has shown her capacity to grow and discover who she is and what she can become.
