Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 1: Rooster is a handsome boy who came all the way to Wisconsin from Louisiana. He’s a medium-high energy pup who needs 2 good walks a day, or maybe a longer hike. With some practice he could be a good running buddy. He walks very well on a leash as long as he has a prong collar. Currently Rooster spends the day in his crate while we’re at work—he whines a little bit when he first goes in but then settles down. Other than that he rarely barks and he’s completely potty trained.

Rooster loves all people he meets. I’ve never seen him with children but I would not recommend him for kids under 12, just because he’s a big, uncoordinated goof and he likes to try and mouth people’s hands in play. In addition to the mouthing, he could stand to learn some manners—he needs to learn that he’s not entitled to all of your attention all the time!

Rooster’s very smart—he learned sit in a single day! He’s a lot of fun to train because he picks things up so quickly and he’s food-motivated. He enjoys playing with other dogs but I’d recommend slow intros—he tends to greet other dogs TOO enthusiastically!

Overall Rooster is a big goof who loves his people more than anything and he’s excited to find a family to settle down with!
