Updates from Owners:

Pupdate 1: Mallory is a two year old lab/boxer mix. She is very playful and loves other dogs. She has a great time when taken to the dog park or at doggie day care. Mal is very loving with her people. She greets them with classic lab enthusiasm.

Mal has done well with most of the basic obedience. She listens well in the house. She sits well in most situations. She will lie down on leash well or at the dog park loose sometimes. She is good with her crate. It is used for bed time and for calming down. She is very well potty trained, no peeing/pooping in the house since she was a small puppy. She has some leaking type incontinence from her spay. This only happens in warm weather and it is easily managed with half a pill of Proin, which is very inexpensive, in the summer.

Although, she is a great dog, she has a few behavioral problems. Mal has issues with anxiety and guarding behavior. On walks she can be a little reactive to strangers, some barking and growling, but is easily distracted with a treat. We have been working on this behavior and it is improving. Mal is inconsistent with guests in the home. Most often she barks and growls for the beginning of the visit. We crate her until she calms down. Usually, she is then nervous but okay. Some people she is immediately enthusiastic about, a few she needs to stay crated. She is particularly uncertain of children. Mal has had issues getting along well with our cats. She tends to chase our cats when then run away and has responding by guarding us from the cats when afraid.

Mallory could be a great dog in a quiet home without young children or cats. She would prefer if there is a another dog in the home. She would love to be your buddy for hanging on the couch and adventures.
