Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 2: Ellie Mae is doing awesome with potty training! The only time she had an accident in the last week is when mom missed her telling us she had to go out. Leash walking is fun with Ellie. She's super interested in the gazillion things to smell and see though pulls very little on the leash.  We give her treats when she is walking right next to us, so she is catching on quickly.  Last weekend Ellie had to have a schedule since so many neighbors and friends (big, small and 4-legged) wanted to come visit and play. She's got lots of energy and has typical puppy behaviors like play biting, chewing, though responds well to redirection and is treat motivated. Ellie is quiet in her crate at night and when mom has her in there during the day. Ellie ready for her forever home!

Pupdate 1: Meet Ellie Mae all the way from Louisiana! She's a typical puppy. On workdays Ellie is ready to get up at about 6 a.m., potties, eats, plays a little and then heads back in her crate with a Kong so mom can get a little exercise. Afterwards Ellie has about an hour to 1.5 hours of play to wear off her puppy energy before heading back into her crate. Mid-day Ellie has a lunch/potty/play break for about 30-45 mn. and can be in her crate about 3.5 to 4 hours. She also has one potty break at night. Weekday evenings are a couple hours spent exploring the world, meeting people, playing with toys in the house, dog walking and playing with her littermate or other dogs. Ellie is friendly and interested in everyone she meets. She needs very close supervision with young kids since she hasn't yet learned to not jump up.

Ellie has a lot of puppy energy and loves to play and run outside, play with squeaky toys, treat puzzle balls and then she'll be out for a puppy nap. She's an explorer, very curious and has to be on leash or fenced at all times when outside. She's been introduced to leash walking though will need more practice with her forever home. Ellie really wants to play with and is interested in other dogs. She's brave with big dogs, and will be submissive when she needs to be. Ellie is crated when alone in the house though hasn't had much time alone since we are fostering her littermate. When she has been alone she zonked out in her crate. She doesn't whimper/bark when I leave for work. It might be a little bit of an adjustment at first, though I think she'll do fine. Ellie Mae is a super sweet, spunky, smart puppy. She's curious, very confident and just a great pup!
