Long-haired Chihuahua|male|8 years old|7 lbs|Adoption Fee $200

Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 3: Mr. Cool's favorites (in no particular order):
-Going on car rides
-Hanging out in his kennel with the door open
-Going on walks around the neighborhood
-Chewing on a cow trachea even though he only has one tooth
-Being the most devoted companion to his favorite person, but never clingy
-Fetching his little crinkly toys
-Posing for adorable photos
-Watching neighborhood happenings out the front window

Mr. Cool's dislikes:
-A lot of treats (picky guy!)
-People he just met trying to pet him, and moving quickly
-Sharing his person, sometimes

Mr. Cool would love a quiet home with a person who is firm, but also who is ready for a goofy, loving best bud. He is everything you love about Chihuahuas wrapped up in the softest package with the longest, floppiest tongue :)

Pupdate 2: Mr. Cool continues to be awesome! He has settled in great and figured out our daily routine, but is kind enough to sleep in with me on weekends :) We've found that he loves car rides so we'll take him on little jaunts around town with us, and he continues to enjoy his short walks around the neighborhood. Originally Cools was pretty wary of my husband, but lately he's been wagging his tail like crazy when he sees him and going to him for attention. He is still very cautious of people coming into our house, but we've been working on getting more calm visitors to practice with and if they just ignore him he settles down pretty quickly.

Cools is honestly one of our easiest foster dogs - he likes being brushed, is good for baths, house-trained, good with other pups, stays in his crate calmly while we're at work, and on top of that is just the cutest and most photogenic guy. He is going to make a lucky family very happy!

Pupdate 1: Meet Mr. Cool, short for Cool Whip! True to his name, he is one cool dude. Mr. Cool is an 8-year-old long-haired Chihuahua who weighs in at 7.5 pounds of fluff. He will go into his crate on command and hang out there while we're at work, knows how to sit, and knows come (most of the time!). He's housetrained, walks great on a leash, is good on car rides, and shares attention, food, and water nicely with other dogs. He loves meeting other pups and is pretty savvy about their cues; he knows his foster sister doesn't really want to interact with him so he doesn't push it, but he is happy when he sees other dogs on walks. Mr. Cool hasn't met any cats while living with us but I suspect he would be very, well, cool with them.

Mr. Cool, like many other Chihuahuas, seems to choose a favorite person and we've noticed he is more comfortable with women than men. He does fine with my husband, although he can get a little possessive of me when we're all sitting together so we keep an eye on him and correct any brattiness as it comes up. When new people come into the house, Mr. Cool will bark a few times and then want to sniff them, but doesn't like when people he doesn't know reach out to him or get in his space. He'll jump at them to chase them away, so for that reason we think a home without young children (under 12) and without a lot of people coming or going would be best.

Mr. Cool only has one tooth left but the good news is it's in great shape! He eats hard food mixed with a little soft food and does just fine. He does have a grade 3-4 heart murmur, but his x-rays showed that his heart is not enlarged and he doesn't have any symptoms of heart trouble. He will just need to be monitored for any issues in the future, as with any dog you adopt!

For the most loyal, adorable pint-sized buddy, look no further than Mr. Cool!
