"It is one of my sources of happiness never to desire a knowledge of other people's business." - (Dolley) Madison

Updates from  Foster Home:

Pupdate 3: The more time we spend with Madison the better she gets! As the carprofen kicks in and her bones feel better she's been showing more of her fun side! She loves to greet us at the door whenever we come home, and she'll always bring one of her toys with to say hello. On occasions that she can't find her toys, she's brought us the cat's toys, cat bed, and once she brought us my nursing pillow! She just loves to please and get lots of pets and love. Madison has been perfect with our now two month old daughter, and will lay nearby and nap while she's on her playmat, or gently sniff towards her when we're holding her, but otherwise hasn't shown much interest. Yesterday we watched her squeeze herself under the computer desk in a game of "if I fits I sits" - what a goofball! She is such a sweetheart, and we can't wait to help her find her forever family!

Pupdate 2: Madison has been feeling better every day she has been on Carprofen! She now takes the stairs confidently and has shown some pep, playing some short rounds of fetch! She still prefers being mellow and snoozing away most of the day, but being on a joint supplement and carprofen to manage her soreness has greatly helped. This week she met a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old and napped right through their explorations of her. She's continued to make us smile every day by greeting us at the door with her favorite nearby toy (which sometimes is a cat toy or our throw pillow). We don't kennel her and there's clearly no need to as she's content to find whatever cozy spot she can to nap in. She's such a good pup! On walks or at Frisbee games she loves to wander over to people to make friends and say hello, and she's met dogs and cats while with us and been easygoing with both! Her favorite activity is to be let out into our fenced yard each morning s that she can go snooze in the shade and relax in the fresh air. This girl is perfect if you're looking for a laid-back companion to keep you company!

Pupdate 1: We've had Madison for just over a week now and I'm confident that she has been the easiest dog we've ever fostered! This loving girl just wants a couch or a dog bed to nap on during the day, and a few short walks. She's got stiff hips, which is pretty common for a dog her size and age, so she will need to continue on a joint supplement and some general pain mess to help with the stiffness, but losing weight will help too. We've taken her on walks, to Ultimate Frisbee games, and to a dog sitter's and she's done so well with everyone she's met! She likes our dog, our two cats, and does well with our month-old baby girl! This mellow girl is such a sweetheart! She does wear her thundershirt during storms or fireworks as they make her nervous, but all she does is pant and shake and try to stay near you. If you're looking for a calm, friendly older girl to give lots of snuggles to then Madison is your girl!
