Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 2: Hi folks - sending a quick note to tell you about my weekend exploits. The big news is that I went to the Carbone Cancer Center's Race for Research 5k. I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place before. At first I was a little intimidated but then I met a ton of other adoptable Fetch dogs. The dogs helped me relax so I could meet a bunch of people. I also met some little people, my foster mom called them kids. The little ones made me nervous at first but my foster mom told the kids what kind of pets I like and that made it much better. I do have some strong herding instinct starting to show so I would probably do better  with older kids.

I also want to update you on my training. I walk politely on a loose leash! I'm getting much better at "sit" but I do still need treats to make it happen. But coming when called - I love it! Especially if I'm a little ways away from you, then I can run really fast to get to you! I love running - the faster the better! I'm really smart so I plan on picking up new skills every week! If a smart, active, handsome pup that plays hard and cuddles hard is what you're looking for, come meet me!

Pupdate 1: Hi everyone, it's me, Jimi Hendrix! I've been traveling for a long time. First as a stray down in Texas, they over the roads and highways to Wisconsin. I'd love to find a forever home with active family that wants to give lots of exercise and teach me new things.

Although I am a bit of a shy guy, I do warm up fairly quickly. Every human who has met me agrees I do not have a mean bone in my body! As I get more comfortable in my foster home I'm learning what I like, what I'm good at, and what I need to work on.

First off, I love, love, love other dogs. They help me feel more confident and I have so much fun playing with them. I have tons of energy and having dog buddies lets me burn off a lot of energy! After a play session or a long walk, I do like to snuggle with my people and my dog buddies.

I can be cautious around new things. When my dog friends are okay with something I think is new, I am able to relax more quickly. They are teaching me how to play with toys too, something I didn't learn about when I was a puppy. I have not met any cats or kids, but when I see them on walks I react calmly so I think I would be okay with them.

I haven't had much training, but I am super smart and trainable. I am completely potty trained. I also am crate trained and I love having a crate as a safe space when I'm feeling overwhelmed or tired. I am getting better every day with leash walking, and would really like someone to hike or run with. I'm working on other basic commands like come, sit, and wait at the door but I definitely need to improve on these things. Treats motivate me so it probably won't take long! I would love it if my new people took me to classes like agility or tricks and games. I'm a working breed that needs a job and going to school could be a job for me! Without physical exercise and mental stimulation I can get a little naughty. I have been caught chewing on things when I'm bored and restless.
