Updates from Foster Home:

Pupdate 3: Hamilton continues to do well at our house.  His new favorite pasttime has been chasing birds in the backyard - he'll look straight up in the sky and bark at them! He still tests the boundaries once in awhile but catches on quickly when we correct him

Pupdate 2: We've started leaving Hamilton out during the day while we're at work and running errands. We even tested him by leaving food out on the counter and when we got back everything was exactly as we left it. This dog is amazing once he's established respect and good boundaries with you!

Pupdate 1: Hamilton is a handsome and unique dog who will need an experienced dog owner.

He's a super smart guy, and has mastered tons of basic commands - he knows heel, sit, down, come, shake, place, out and kennel - all with verbal cues. He's house trained, takes treats very gently, is e-collar trained, has excellent recall, and has been practicing running on a treadmill!

Ham can entertain himself for hours with toys and will flip them up to catch them or pounce on them without any help from us. He enjoys playing fetch and loves romping around outdoors and going for walks. He does great with most other dogs, and currently lives with our 5 resident dogs. He loves playing chase with them outside and often wears himself out romping around.

While he has lots of amazing qualities, he does need an experienced dog owner who's willing to be consistent with his training and wants to form an unbreakable bond with their dog. Hamilton has some food aggression, kennel aggression, and reactivity on leash and in the car. He just got back from a 5 week board and train, where we got some more ideas for how to combat those vices. We will make sure to pass those on to whoever wishes to adopt him! He's become quite easy to live with for us but he needs a person who can take charge so he doesn't feel like he needs to rule the roost.
