At Fetch, we ensure all of our dogs are healthy and up to date on preventative care before we send them on to their forever homes. All of our dogs receive a wellness exam, a microchip, vaccination against Distemper, Bordatella, Parvovirus, and Rabies, are spayed or neutered, and are kept up to date on their Flea/Tick and Heartworm Preventative.
So when we read that we may be able to reduce vaccination reactions in our smaller charges, we had to look twice. There's frequent discussion about vaccine recommendations, and they are under constant scrutiny. Right now, one of the largest discussions is whether the benefit of giving the amount of antigen necessary to stimulate the immune response outweighs pitfalls of the high volume of toxic ingredients in the vaccine.
